How to attach patches to your clothes
Follow the steps below to attach the patches by heat sealing:
- Choose the item you plan to attach the patch to. As a general rule, the fabric you choose should be at least as heavy as the patch . Fabrics like denim and cotton make the best base for iron-on patches.
- Lay your item on a flat, heat-resistant surface .
- Heat the iron to the hottest setting your fabric can tolerate. Make sure the "steam" option is turned off .
- Iron where you plan to place the patch
- Place a thin piece of clothing over the patch .
- Position the heated iron over the patch and press firmly for about 25 seconds on each side .
- Remove the iron and allow the patch to cool .
- Check if the patch is secure by gently rubbing the edge with a finger. If it lifts a little, repeat the process .
For a completely secure patch, use a sewing machine or needle and thread to secure the patch to the fabric.
Total tackiness will be reached in 48 hours.
Note on fixing your patches by heat sealing
Do not wash the item more than necessary as this process may cause the patch to begin to come off.
If you must wash the item, hand wash using cold water.
Let it air dry.
